Living Things
Rang na Gréine planted wildflower seeds in the outdoor classroom. The children are observing the flowers grow and are hoping to attract bees and other pollinators.
Energy and Forces
Mr. Cunningham's class investigated how gravity and balance are connected. They discussed centre of gravity and concluded that it should be over their feet. Then they tried various movements that placed their centre of gravity away from this "ideal point".
Materials
3rd Class made predictions on how Orbeez (a super-absorbent polymer) would react when mixed with water. They observed and recorded changes over the course of a week.
Environmental Awareness and Care
Over a period of 3 weeks every class in the school explored the local environment with expert, Patrick Hunt. They observed the various flora and fauna present.
Rediscovery Centre Visit
In February Ms. Burns' and Mr. Cunningham's classes had a visit from The Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun. They really enjoyed taking part in the ‘Climate Heroes’ and ‘Transport for the Future’ workshops.
