Children took part in a whole school Egg Drop Challenge. 4 children from Ms. Gill’s class went around to each class and challenged the students to create something which would keep an egg safe if dropped from the balcony over the school lobby. Students tested out a variety of materials and created some wonderful designs.
Investigating Pulleys
Mr. O’Hara’s 5th class investigated pulleys. They tried creating their own simple pulley systems with spools on skewers. Some of the children made a connection between the pulley rotation and the blades of a windmill moving around a central point. They then attempted to make their own windmill blades.
